Many students that were the pioneers for the Genius Hour program seemed to like the genius hour projects much more than other school projects because it wasn’t assigned by the teacher. The kids had the option to learn about what interested them and act of something they were passionate about. Also, the teachers stressed in the article that the main take away should be that it is fine to fail. In the project, it is okay to take risks in order to accomplish something, even if it means failing. This will effect my genius hour project because I won’t be afraid to take some risks that I wouldn’t normally be comfortable with. Even if I fail in my endeavors, I will be able to learn from my mistakes and make changes to my future risks.

Within this month I hope to figure out how to properly write a letter to the city in order to fix the tennis courts at Ford Park. I will research this online or make phone calls to the city depending on how much I can figure out online. If signatures are required I could go door to door around the park and ask for support. By the end of November, I would like to have the letter or "petition" sent to the city, and by the end of the year do anything else required to make this fix happen.
